Plant plum trees directly into well drained, sunny borders that have been enriched with well rotted manure or garden compost. When planting plum trees in containers, repot into 30cm pots in a well drained, soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Plant trees at the same soil level as they were in their original pots and firm them into their new containers. Water well and position in full sun.
Feed and water mini fruit trees regularly throughout the summer. In spring, while the ground is moist, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of trees grown directly in borders. This will help to retain moisture throughout the summer.Remove some of the fruit each year to allow the tree to focus on producing larger, better quality fruits. Mini plum trees require only light pruning in summer to keep their shape and remove damaged or crowded branches. Container grown plants will require repotting into increasingly larger pots up to 60cm (2') diameter as they increase in size.
We will do our best to ship your plants or bulbs to you at the ideal time for planting as stated against each product. We recommend that you prepare your soil, planting beds or patio containers ahead of time so you are ready to plant out, or pot on, just as soon as your order arrives. You will find the name of the variety printed on the top line of the address label on your package. Please ensure that you open the packaging immediately and carefully read through the instruction leaflet provided. For greatest success, please pot on or plant out as soon as possible, following the cultural instructions enclosed with your order.
  1. Doing nicely

    By Jenny Puttock 23-06-2013

Since arriving in early spring and being planted into a bigger pot this little tree has put on lots of growth. The leaves has a nice pinkish edging. Can't wait to taste the fruit next year.

Superb on the patio, adds a bit of colour and life on a summers evening.
