This compact shrub has a columnar, upright habit that lends itself nicely growing in patio pots and small garden borders. Weigela Towers of Flowers® 'Cherry' provides a luxuriant display of pink-red blooms that fill the length of each stem in early summer. A second flush in late summer often provides a welcome splash of colour. The young foliage is bronze, maturing to dark green as the summer progresses. This showy, deciduous shrub is easy to grow and needs very little maintenance. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 90cm (36").

Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
