Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Heuchera 'Obsidian' makes a bold statement, with fine sprays of creamy-white flowers that stand out against glossy, deep maroon-black foliage. These nectar-rich flowers attract pollinating insects and bring a light, airy feel to cut flower arrangements. A hardy, evergreen perennial, ‘Obsidian’ retains its elegant looks all year, and makes a particularly useful ground cover when planted en masse. This striking Coral Flower is a superb choice for individual patio pots or planting at the front of borders. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Culinary information: The leaves can be tossed in with other greens for a mixed salad, typically too bitter to eat on their own, they will add a tangy kick to an otherwise bland salad. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Heuchera plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in a moist, well drained soil, adding compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or semi shade.
Feed, water and weed between plants regularly until they are fully established. Apply mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant in autumn or spring. Lift and divide clumps of Heuchera every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
