Dark blue buds open to reveal bluish-white flowers etched with blue stripes. The exquisite detailing on Agapanthus ‘Midnight Moon’ adds additional elegance to this reliable, drought-tolerant perennial that provides invaluable late summer interest. Tall, upright stems support the large umbels, above strappy leaves. Agapanthus ‘Midnight Moon’ makes a super choice for Mediterranean style containers or gravel gardens, the leaves cascading over terracotta containers or the edge of a border. The linear leaves provide valuable textural contrast against broader foliage and bushy plants. Height and spread: 50cm (20in).

Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .

Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
