Classic bedding annual

A large-flowered, vigorous variety of annual ageratum with powder-puff flower heads of soft, lavender blue. The fluffy, weather resistant blooms are particularly attractive to butterflies. With a dense, compact habit, Ageratum houstonianum 'Blue Danube' is perfect for adding texture and colour to bedding, borders and containers. Height: 20cm (8"). Spread: 25cm (10").

Garden Ready Plants - Our garden ready plants are selected for garden performance, straight from the nursery. We send them to you 'green' ahead of flowering (but please note some varieties may show a few blooms), which means plants will establish quickly and all their energy goes into producing better roots, so they produce more flowers throughout the season.

Pot up floss flower plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When ageratum plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun on moist, fertile, well drained soil.

Water regularly until ageratum plants are fully established. Deadhead faded flowers throughout the summer to encourage more blooms to be produced.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on. Delivery times will be stated on the product page above, or in your order acknowledgement page and email.

Orders for packets of seed incur a delivery charge of £2.99.
