It’s hard to resist the urge to touch the delicate fronds of this graceful Asparagus Fern! The slender stems are shrouded in the finest foliage that gives it a soft, fluffy appearance, but take care as they can develop thorns over time. Asparagus setaceus is instantly alluring, adding a calm and restful feel to any brightly-lit indoor space. Its fresh green foliage is at its best when grown well away from the scorch of hot, direct sunlight. A superb house plant for a bright north facing room. Height: 1m (39"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

Position Asparagus setaceus in a well-lit room away from cold draughts and radiators, with a constant temperature above 16C (60F). Average room temperatures of 18C (65F) - 24C (75F) are preferable. Asparagus setaceus require a bright but lightly shaded spot, well away from the direct glare of the sun.
Water Asparagus setaceus freely between spring and autumn using tepid rainwater where possible, and allowing the pot to drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to completely dry out. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
