A spectacular collection of a carefully selected mix of our favourite begonias! Our new Begonia Collection contains an amazing five different varieties of tuberhybrida begonias that will fill your hanging baskets, patio containers and flower pouches with glorious summer colour. Begonia tubers are so easy to grow that you’ll have a display to be proud of in no time at all!

The Collection comprises of

Begonia ‘Picote Mixed’ - Huge flowers up to 15cm (6") across add an exotic flavour to patio pots. The flamboyant blooms of Begonia Giant Picotee Mixed boast layers of elaborate, ruffled petals with a picotee edge.

Begonia ‘Cascade’ - The pendulous stems of these spectacular trailing begonias are smothered by enormous double flowers all summer long.

Begonia fimbriata - Vibrant blooms with crimped edges that resemble large carnations are produced on sturdy plants throughout summer. These beautiful fringed begonias, in a mix of vibrant colours, are ideal for creating a memorable display in beds, window boxes and patio containers.

Begonia ‘ Non-stop’ - Fully double flowers in a mixture of five vibrant colours contrast dramatically with the rich, chocolate coloured foliage. Begonia 'Non-Stop’, as the name suggests, is one of the best begonias for continuous summer flowering.

Begonia ‘Apricot Shades’ - Begonia 'Apricot Shades' is as versatile as it is beautiful! Large, cascading, double blooms will pour from your containers from July to October. You'll be enjoying gorgeous flowers in shades of apricot and orange that reach 6-10cm (2.5-4") in diameter all summer and well into autumn. These tuberous begonias will perform whatever the weather and can be placed in sunny or semi shaded positions.

Tubers are ideal for containers, making a larger plant in the first year than plug plants or growing from seed. From February, start begonia tubers off in well-drained, moist compost in a warm, frost-free position in bright light. When planting begonia tubers, position them just below the compost surface with the indented side facing upwards. When begonia plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.

Feed and water plants frequently throughout the growing season taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new flower buds to drop. Deadhead faded blooms regularly to encourage more vibrant begonia flowers to be produced and to extend the flowering period. At the end of the growing season the leaves and stems will yellow and fall off naturally. Reduce watering to prevent begonia plants from rotting at this stage. When the stems have all dropped away, dig out the tubers. Clean and dry them before storing them away in peat or sand at 7-15°C (45-60°F) until they can be replanted next February.
