Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Featuring large, spiral leaves which swirl round and round in a fun fair of colours, Begonia ‘Helter Skelter’ is aptly named. The whirling leaves are daubed with pink and white painterly splashes against a dark background, making this variety of Begonia rex a very distinctive and eye-catching feature for a semi-shaded spot indoors. In winter, small sprays of pink flowers are borne sporadically, adding further interest to this exotic looking house plant. Height 35cm (14in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Position Begonia rex in a warm room away from cold draughts and radiators, with a constant temperature above 16C (60F). Begonia rex requires a bright but lightly shaded spot, well away from the direct glare of the sun.
Water Begonia rex plants freely between spring and autumn, allowing the pot to drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to completely dry out. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Begonia rex appreciates a humid atmosphere - stand it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant.
