For a small shrub, Berberis thunbergii 'Golden Carpet' makes a big impact! Pink tinged flowers nestle among the golden yellow foliage in spring, followed by bright scarlet red berries. This vibrant deciduous shrub is at its finest in autumn, turning to brilliant orange. With a compact habit, it remains neat and manageable, reaching just 90cm (36") tall. This dwarf Barberry is perfect for adding a bright splash of colour to the middle of borders and rockeries. Height and spread: 90cm (36").

Plant Berberis in full sun or partial shade, on a reliably moist, well-drained soil. Barberry plants are extremely resilient and will grow on many different soil types, except waterlogged.

Berberis require little maintenance once established. Trim back the stems lightly after flowering, removing dead or damaged growth at the same time.
