A second season of interest is provided by autumn foliage colour when the dark green leaves turn gold. Betula utilis ‘Jacquemontii’ forms an open, pyramidal tree which is tolerant of all growing conditions. The peeling bark is wonderfully tactile and sheds each year to reveal the warm, pinkish tones of fresh new bark beneath. Height: above 12m (39ft) Spread: 4-8m (13-26ft).

Grow Birch on any moist, fertile, well drained soil. Birch thrive in full sun or lightly dappled shade and are generally tolerant of windy positions.Feed and water Betula until fully established. Once established, Birch trees require no maintenance. If pruning is necessary to remove diseased or misplaced stems then this should be carried out in winter when the plant is dormant, as Birch has a tendency to bleed sap if pruned during the growing season.Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on. Delivery times will be stated on the product page above, or in your order acknowledgement page and email.
