Description How to Grow Delivery

This elegant British native fern is often seen growing on dry stone walls and rocky banks. Blechnum spicant forms neat, evergreen rosettes composed of two different fronds. The outermost part of the rosette bears shining, ladder-like fronds which grow almost parallel to the ground, whilst tall, upright fronds with narrow leaflets rise up from the centre. A very pretty and delicate-looking fern for woodland gardens and shady rockeries in positions with acid soil. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 60cm (24in). Spread: 45cm (18in).

Grow in moist, acid soils in partial to full shade. Water well during establishment.
