Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Blueberry ‘Flamingo’ boasts small white flowers with unique foliage that emerges an attractive mottled pink colour, before maturing to bright green with cream marbling. This compact little Blueberry is perfect for the patio where you can enjoy its ornamental value as well as the juicy sweet fruits in summer. With 'Bluecrop' parentage, it's a good cropper too! The crimson autumn foliage of this deciduous shrub provides a final splash of colour as winter approaches. A superb new hybrid that deserves a prominnent spot in the garden. Although self-fertile, like all Blueberries it will produce its best crops if grown with another Blueberry to increase pollination. Height: 100cm (39"). Spread: 70cm (27").

Blueberries require a well drained, acid soil in a sunny or semi shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow blueberry plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3.
If possible, blueberries should be watered with rainwater because the lime contained in tap water will reduce the acidity in the soil over time. Blueberries will begin to produce fruit in their third year. As fruits begin to develop, cover the plants with netting to protect the berries from birds. From their third year, begin to prune out the oldest stems each autumn to promote new growth and maintain a healthy plant framework.
