Buddleja ‘Butterfly Candy Lila Sweetheart’ is a dwarf variety perfect for smaller gardens, with sprays of fragrant lilac flowers that are irresistible to butterflies.

The Butterfly Candy Collection of Buddlejas are especially dwarf and compact, reaching only around 80cm in height, so they are perfect for small spaces or even containers. Buddleja make easy and fast-growing shrubs which produce dense displays of conical flowers in late summer to autumn. Once established they are tough plants which will thrive in poor soils provided they are given sun. Many can grow too large for smaller gardens but Butterfly Candy are the perfect dimensions for compact spaces. Height and Spread: 80cm (31in).

Grow buddleja in garden borders in any moist, well drained garden soil, in full sun or semi-shade. Alternatively grow buddleja plants in patio containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.

Feed and water container-grown plants regularly. Buddleja planted directly into borders will require only occasional attention. In spring, prune buddleja plants back to a permanent low framework of 3 or 4 buds from the base of the plant. Deadhead faded buddleja flowers to prolong the flowering season.
