They are borne over the grey-green leaves and show off its spidery flower heads and its eye-catching purple tones. They are perfect in sunny borders and in gravel gardens. The butterflies and bees love Centaurea montana due to its nectar rich blooms too. As flowers begin to fade, deadhead those which will help prolong the flowering. Height 45cm (18”) and spread 60cm (24”).

Grow Centaurea in borders in full sun. Perennial Cornflowers are drought tolerant once established and will happily tolerate almost any soil, except those that are excessively waterlogged.Water Centaurea plants regularly until fully established. In autumn, cut back old stems to just above ground level to make way for new growth in the spring.Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
