Description How to Grow Delivery Reviews
A gorgeous clematis variety, Clematis 'Kokonoe' is a sister cultivar of our best selling Clematis 'Taiga'. The rich violet flowers, first bloom as singles, and become double blooms as the season progresses. By the end of summer, they have a pom-pom form. This clematis can transform a drab wall or fence, if grown up a trellis. Alternatively, it can be grown in a trellis or obelisk planter, and placed on a patio, or decking. Low maintenance and easy to prune – simply cut back the stems to just above ground level each year. Best planted in full sun or semi-shade. Height: 250cm (98"). Spread: 100cm (39").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Feed and water frequently throughout the growing season. This variety of clematis flowers in late summer on the current year’s growth. Pruning should be undertaken in spring before active growth begins. When pruning group 3 Clematis, cut back all of the previous year’s stems to a pair of healthy buds at around 20cm (8”) above ground level. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant in order to protect the roots and conserve soil moisture.
