Description Sowing More Info Delivery
This climbing Flame Lily makes a spectacular focal point for your conservatory. This exotic climber produces stunning flame-like blooms throughout summer, bringing a tropical feel to your home. Grow it over an obelisk or trained onto trellis to create a spectacular focal point. In summer, plants can be moved to the patio where they will attract pollinating insects to the garden. Height: 180cm (71"). Spread: 30cm (12").

1 Packet (10 Seeds) (KB5906)

Sow seeds on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed compost. Then lightly cover, 3mm (1/8") deep with vermiculite or compost. Place container in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag at a temperature of 20-30C (68-86F) until after germination which usually takes 7-14 days.

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, taking care not to damage the fragile roots, into 9cm (4in) pots. When roots have filled these pots, set into final containers and provide climbing supports.

In autumn gradually dry off the tubers and store cool, dry and frost free through winter. Repot in early spring in 13cm (5") pots taking care that the tips of the tubers are not bruised or broken. Grow on as before. The tubers take 2-3 years to flower from seed.

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, toxic if eaten.
