Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

These cabbage palms instantly create an exotic statement with their vibrant, spiky evergreen foliage. We’ve brought together three of the best varieties with dazzling foliage colours in pink/olive, cream/green and deep bronze-red. These resilient, low-maintenance plants retain their vivid foliage throughout winter, making them perfect focal points for both summer and winter containers and bedding schemes. Resistant to salt-laden winds and pollution, they’re a rewarding choice for all-year-round colour and structure in coastal gardens and small urban spaces. Plants slowly mature into small trees, forming a woody trunk crowned with a tuft of sword-like leaves and producing small, fragrant panicles of cream flowers in the summer.

Ultimate Height: 2.5-4m (98-158in). Ultimate Spread: 1 - 1.5m (39-59in).

Cordyline Trio comprises the following varieties:

  • Cordyline ‘Southern Splendour’ - variegated leaves coloured olive green and bright pink.
  • Cordyline ‘Torbay Dazzler’ - vibrant variegated cream-edged leaves
  • Cordyline ‘Torbay Red’ – rich bronze-red foliage

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Grow on in frost free conditions and acclimatise to the outdoors over 7-10 days before planting out. Grow Cordylines on fertile, well drained soil. Choose a sheltered position in full sun. Cordylines are particularly well suited to mild coastal locations but do enjoy a fertile soil, so it is well worth incorporating some well rotted manure into the soil when planting.
Feed and water regularly until fully established. Once established, Cordylines need little attention, but will require some winter protection should temperatures dip below-5C (23F). In cold areas it may be preferable to grow Cordylines in large patio containers that can be moved undercover during the coldest months.
