The bright, fiery red stems of Cornus alba 'Gouchaultii' add a much needed injection of colour to any winter garden. This Dogwood has a pink and yellow edging to its green leaves during the rest of the year and pale yellow/white flowers during Spring which is particularly attractive to pollinating insects, bringing wildlife into your garden too! Grow Cornus plants in any well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun.

Feed and water dogwoods regularly until fully established. Once established, they will require less attention. To encourage plenty of colourful stems, Dogwood will need regular pollarding in early spring. Cut back all dogwood stems to 3 buds above soil level or to a permanent low framework. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning. Caution: Dogwood berries are harmful if eaten. Irritant to skin and eyes.
