Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Grown for its golden green winter stems that make a colourful feature in winter. Cornus sericea 'Flaviramea' is the perfect complement to the colourful stems of other Dogwood varieties, and most dramatic when planted in groups. From late spring, the creamy white flowers stand out from a cloak of lush green foliage, and are later replaced by white berries. Autumn sees the foliage change to vibrant red and gold. A superb low maintenance shrub for borders, woodland areas and winter gardens. Height: 200cm (79"). Spread: 400cm (157").

1 cornus plant in 9cm pot (KA7167)

Plant Cornus in a sunny position, in any well drained soil. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply. Cornus sanguinea will happily grow in improved clay soils. Caution: Dogwood berries are harmful if eaten and the leaves may be irritant to skin and eyes.
Water dogwood plants regularly throughout the growing season until fully established. After two years, This Cornus will benefit from regular pollarding to encourage the brightest winter stems. Prune Cornus hard in early spring by cutting back all stems to within 3 buds of the base or to a permanent low framework. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of dogwood shrubs in spring.
