Greenhouse/Outdoor Mini Cucumber

Cucumber ‘Cumini’ is an innovative, compact cucumber plant that’s absolutely smothered in fruits - with up to 5 mini cucumbers per node! Producing so many cucumbers that they look like bunches of grapes, the 9-10cm fruit are sweet, crunchy and bitter-free. With high disease resistance, including powdery mildew, this quick-cropping cucumber makes a great mini-fruited variety for container-growing, greenhouses and even hanging baskets! This small leaved variety takes up less space than traditional types so it’s ideal for small-space gardening such as balconies. A parthenocarpic variety, it will set fruit even in bad weather when few insects are about. Fruit set begins early so you won’t have to wait long before you can enjoy the sweet, seedless, bitter-free fruits! Height: 1.5m (59in). Spread: 40cm (16in).

Mini cucumbers:

Pot up young plants and grow them on until they are large enough to be transplanted. Maintain a minimum temperature of 15c (60F). Ensure that you grow your cucumber in bright light and keep the compost moist but not wet, to allow the fruit to mature.

Provide some support to keep the plant upright and pinch out the plant when it reaches the top of the supports.

For the best flavour, harvest the fruit when it is 1.5 to 2.5 in./4 to 6 cm long.

Water cucumbers regularly. Harvest regularly to encourage, long continuous production. Pick the fruits whilst young and tender before they show signs of producing seeds, as older fruits can become bitter.
