Description How to Grow Delivery

For a ‘Jurassic Jungle’ look you can’t beat this giant tree fern! Cyathea cooperi is a beautiful, fast growing tree fern that will quickly form an impressive specimen. The young fronds of Cyathea cooperi emerge as large, tightly coiled crosiers, densely covered in silky hairs. They unfurl into long fronds held on strong hairy stems, forming a magnificent crown of pale green, feathery foliage. Cyathea cooperi is not hardy and needs to be kept in frost free conditions but this RHS award-winning tree fern is well worth the effort. It is perfect for a container in a sheltered courtyard or patio where it can be moved into a frost-free position over winter. Height and spread: 2.5–4 metres (8.2-13ft).

Not hardy. Grow in dappled shade away from strong winds in moist, humus-rich soil. Ensure that the trunk is always kept moist. Move to a frost-free position or provide good protection over winter.
