The foliage gives off a delicate lemon scent when gently touched or walked past. Awarded an RHS AGM, this superb conifer is perfect for planting in full-sun although it doesn’t tolerate extreme cold winter winds. Height:5m (16'). Spread: 2.5m (8'). Supplied in 10.5cm pots.

Gradually acclimatise Cypress trees to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant Cupressus in any well-drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Incorporate plenty of compost or well-rotted manure prior to planting. Alternatively grow Cupressus in large containers using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3. Mediterranean Cypress is drought-tolerant once established.
Water regularly throughout the growing season until Cypress trees are well established. Cupressus does not require any pruning; this may spoil its natural shape. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant in spring.
