Cytisus 'Boskoop Ruby', more commonly known as Broom, is an easy to grow, colourful flowering shrub. Its deep crimson flowers smother the plant in early summer, and return ever year. It tolerates full sun, and is a great shrub for garden borders in a range of garden styles, from cottage to contemporary. This shrub grows to a very manageable size, making it ideal for small and medium sized gardens. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread 150cm (59").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Plant Broom into garden borders in fertile, well drained garden soil, in full shade Cytisus is a very useful shrub, which can also tolerate poor soils, or planting onto sloping ground.
Broom should be trimmed back during May, after plants have flowered. You can also rejuvenate Broom plants over a 3 year period by pruning out a third of the branches each year, again after flowering.
