A bold cactus-style dahlia, Dahlia 'Yellow Star', has spectacular flowers, with spiky full double blooms. It is well suited to a range of garden styles from exotic jungle style to country cottage. It can be grown in garden borders or in planters in sunny locations, such as a south facing patio, and will flower well into autumn, when many other plants are past their best. Flowering Months
Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While dahlia plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Bedding dahlia are generally grown as annuals, however dahlia tubers may be lifted in autumn and stored over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position if required. They can be potted up the following spring.
