A shrub that is perfect for small gardens, Deutzia 'Raspberry Sundae', is low maintenance and compact. It has lovely two-tone, pink and cream flowers, that have a gentle perfume. This deciduous shrub has light green foliage in summer, that turns yellow in autumn. It is well suited to informal, woodland and cottage style gardens, and can be planted in borders, but also makes a great stand alone specimen, in a large pot, on the patio or decking. Height and spread: 90cm (36").

Feed and water Deutzia plants regularly until fully established. Once established, Deutzia shrubs will require little attention. After flowering, cut back the flowered shoots to a pair of healthy buds. On mature plants, remove a fifth of the oldest shoots from the base of the plant. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning.
