‘Baby Doris’ is a brand-new introduction, improving on the ever-popular variety, ‘Doris’, by having a more compact habit. Neat mounds of silvery-green foliage are smothered in cute double blooms in sugar-pink with darker pink centres. This sweet confection will perform all summer, scenting warm evenings with its heady, clove-like fragrance and producing plenty of blooms to arrange in perfumed vase displays. These easy plants are outstanding performers for pots, borders or as groundcover. Height and Spread: 30cm (12in).

Pot up plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow carnations on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant carnations outdoors in moist, well drained soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in full sun.

Feed and water Dianthus plants regularly until they are fully established. Deadhead faded Dianthus flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced throughout the summer.
