Rose pink heart shaped flowers drip from the gracefully arching stems of this handsome perennial. The beautiful spring flowers of Dicentra spectabilis are held above finely cut, fern-like foliage with an elegance that is hard to match. A stunning addition to spring borders, cottage gardens and woodlands. Height: 120 cm (48"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Dicentra prefers a neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Choose a position on any moist, rich, fertile soil in dappled or semi shade.

Water regularly until fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of chipped bark or well-rotted garden compost to the base of the plant. Dicentras have particularly fragile roots and are best left undisturbed if possible. However, overcrowded clumps may be divided in late autumn or early spring if necessary.
