The evergreen blue-green foliage gives this relatively unknown shrub its name. Distylium myricoides 'Blue Cascade' is a sun loving, hardy shrub that will also tolerate partial shade, so it is useful in almost any part of the garden. Early spring sees the dark red petal-less flowers opening along the arching stems to add rich colour when it is needed in the garden. An easy to keep plant, the Blue Leafed Izu Tree will soon become a valued part of your collection. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread 120cm (47").

Grow Distylium plants in well drained ground in full sun or partial shade in any soil type.

Water and feed until established, once settled, Distylium require very little maintenance, only an occasional prune to keep to shape if required.
