Dracaena sanderiana or ‘Lucky Bamboo’ is said to bring positive Feng shui into the home. Multiple stems are arranged in three ‘stairs’ symbolising happiness, health and a long life. Traditionally given as a good luck gift, this unusual houseplant is a doddle to grow, making it perfect for beginners. Plants can be grown ‘hydroponically’ – without any compost. Simply fill the bowl with water and refresh it every few weeks.

Whilst Feng shui enthusiasts claim that ‘Chi’ energy is channelled through the hollow stems, more skeptical plant lovers will be content to simply admire its quirky, eye-catching appearance. It's sure to become a talking point! Height and spread: 30cm.

Grow in bright, indirect light. Refresh the water every 2 to 3 weeks, preferably using distilled or rainwater rather than tap water which can cause nutrient imbalances. Feeding is not required.
