This is a cactus like no other! Flat stems with delightfully wavy edges make a fun and funky plant which is also easy to care for. Native to the rainforests of Mexico, this epiphytic cactus naturally grows on the branches of host trees and its pendant stems are best displayed in a hanging pot. Treated to lots of bright light, in late summer Ephiphyllum anguliger will also produce exotic-looking, creamy-white flowers which open in the evenings and are highly fragrant. This is also a good houseplant to practise propagation techniques – it’s really easy to root from stem cuttings and share with friends. Maximum height: 30cm (12in). Spread: 100cm (40in).

Grow in bright, indirect light, avoiding strong, direct, sunlight. Maintain the temperature above 13°C. Water regularly between spring and autumn when the first couple of centimetres of compost have dried out, feeding during the growing season with a balanced houseplant feed. Reduce watering in the winter and avoid draughts.
