Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

This dwarf Spindle has a neat, compact growth habit making it better suited to small, confined spaces than its larger relatives. Inconspicuous summer flowers are replaced by curious pink fruits, which split to reveal bright orange seeds.

Euonymus alatus 'Compactus' is at its finest in late summer and autumn when its colours bring a fiery glow to borders. The green foliage turns to brilliant crimson-pink that light up the dullest autumn day. As the leaves fall, they reveal intriguing stems covered in winged, corky bark. This deciduous shrub makes a superb addition to sunny mixed borders. Height and spread: 150cm (59").

Grow Euonymus plants on moist, but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Plants will tolerate exposed and coastal gardens, and may give better autumn colour when grown in full sun.
Feed and water Euonymus shrubs regularly until fully established. Spindle Bushes are low maintenance and require very little pruning. In late winter or early spring simply remove any dead, diseased or damaged growth.
