If you are looking for a blaze of autumn colour in a small garden, you can’t beat this dwarf ‘Burning Bush’. Euonymus alatus is prized as an autumn spectacle, but whilst other varieties grow into tree-like specimens, ‘Little Moses’ is very dwarf and compact, making a lovely specimen for a small border or container. The foliage is dark green in summer, erupting into brilliant crimson during autumn. Euonymus alatus ‘Little Moses’ has a distinctive and elegant habit, with tiered, horizontal branches bearing corky wings which make a lovely feature in winter when the leaves have been shed. In late spring, small, green, inconspicuous flowers are produced, but the fruits that follow always attract attention; their pink seed cases splitting open to reveal bright orange seeds that attract birds. A great addition to small borders, patio containers and courtyards. Height and spread: 90cm (35in).

Grow Euonymus plants on moist, but well-drained soil in full sun or partisl shade. Plants will tolerate exposed and coastal gardens, and may give better autumn colour when grown in full sun.

Spindle trees are low maintenance and require very little pruning - simply trim them to remove any dead, diseased or damaged growth. Caution: harmful if eaten.
