Named after its pearly white flower buds flushed with a pink glow, Exochorda ‘Blushing Pearl’ is a compact, highly floriferous variety of this popular deciduous shrub. From May to June, the buds open to pure white, 5-petalled flowers carried in arching racemes. An elegant shrub which delivers spring impact to mixed borders and patio containers. Height and spread: 2m (78in).

Grow Exochorda in any moist, well drained fertile soil in sun or dappled shade. Exochorda tolerates most soils except for shallow, chalky conditions.

After flowering, cut back the flowered shoots to strong buds lower down the stems. Large, mature Exochorda plants will also benefit from a fifth of the oldest stems being cut back to the base of the plant each year.
