Exochorda x macrantha 'The Bride' lives up to it's common name of 'Pearl Bush' as this elegant deciduous shrub cloaks it's arching branches in flawless white flowers that drown out the light green foliage in a head-turning display. During autumn the interest switches to the leaves which turn to warm shades of red and gold. This particular variety, 'The Bride' is a worthy holder of an RHS AGM award and will make a great addition to garden borders or the edges of woodland planting. Height: 2m (6'). Spread: 3m (10').

Exochorda thrives in any moist, well drained fertile soil in sun or dappled shade. Exochorda tolerates most soils except for shallow, chalky conditions.

After flowering, cut back the flowered shoots to strong buds lower down the stems. Large, mature Exochorda plants will also benefit from a fifth of the oldest stems being cut back to the base of the plant each year.
