Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
Weeping Figs are always popular for their glossy foliage and attractive weeping branches. Few people realise that they also remove toxins and purify the air, making a useful addition to your home or office space. Ficus benjamina forms a handsome specimen tree for a bright spot. This is a slow growing house plant so it will remain a manageable size for many years. Position it carefully, well away from cold draughts and radiators, and it will reward you with years of pleasure, creating a calming focal point that gets bigger and better over time. Height: 300cm (118"). Spread: 150cm (59").

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

Although quite easy to grow, Ficus benjamina needs careful placement if it is to thrive. Weeping Figs dislike being moved and tend to shed their leaves if repositioned, so it is worth taking care to find the right spot, with plenty of room to grow, from the outset. Position in a bright room, away from cold draughts and radiators, with a constant temperature of between 16C (60F) and 24C (75F). Ideally Weeping Figs should receive a good balance of sun and shade, but avoid the direct glare of the sun.
Water regularly between spring and autumn using tepid rainwater where possible, and allowing the pot to drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to dry out completely. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Weeping Fig appreciates a humid atmosphere - stand it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant. The oldest leaves of Ficus benjamina will naturally die off as the plant grows. These should be carefully removed, to maintain a tidy appearance. Any necessary pruning should be undertaken between in autumn or winter. Avoid moving Weeping Fig plants unless entirely necessary.
