Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Treat your home to this majestic foliage plant with glossy leathery leaves and a handsome upright habit. Fiddle-leaf Figs are relatively slow growing, but over time they will form an upright indoor tree which makes a stately focal point for a bright room. It is important that Ficus lyrata receves plenty of bright light, but not scorching direct sunlight. This well behaved house plant is a fabulous choice for a bright longe or hallway, or grown as a specimen plant in the conservatory. Height: 300cm (118"). Spread: 100cm (39" ).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

Although quite easy to grow, Ficus lyrata needs careful placement if it is to thrive. Fiddle-leaf Figs require plenty of light and tend to shed their leaves if insufficient light is provided. Position in a bright room, away from cold draughts and radiators, with a constant temperature of between 16C (60F) and 24C (75F). Ideally they should receive plenty of bright light, but avoid the direct glare of the sun.
Water regularly from spring to autumn, letting the surface of the compost to dry out between each watering, and allowing the pot to drain thoroughly. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to dry out completely. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. The foliage can be wiped with water and a soft sponge to remove any build-up of dust. The oldest leaves of Ficus lyrata will naturally die off as the plant grows. These should be carefully removed, to maintain a tidy appearance.
