Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
A popular Fuji Cherry with an RHS Award of Garden Merit, grown for its stunning early spring display of white flowers with hints of pink. Unlike many ornamental cherries, Prunus 'Kojo No Mai' is a compact, rounded shrub, ideal for small and low-maintenance gardens. Fuji Cherries are easy to grow and look fabulous either as a specimen shrub, under-planted with early spring bulbs or as part of a wildlife garden where the abundant blossoms attract bees. In the autumn, the leaves take on rich orange and red tones, making this cherry superb for seasonal interest. Height and spread: 2.5m (8').

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Gradually acclimatise Fuji Cherry plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant cherry trees in any moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Incorporate plenty of compost or well-rotted manure prior to planting. Choose a final position in full sun.
Water Prunus trees regularly until fully established. Fuji Cherry ‘Kojo No Mai’ requires little attention. Simply remove any diseased, damaged or crossing shoots to maintain a healthy framework. When pruning cherries it is preferable to wait until midsummer to avoid the risk of ‘silver leaf’ infection. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant in spring, taking care not to mound mulch up against the stem.
