  • Geranium himalayense 'Plenum' - Intense double violet-blue flowers adorn this vigorous hardy geranium. The distinctive dark green leaves with furrowed veining turn to a beautiful orange-red in autumn.
  • Geranium pratense 'Midnight Blue' - A stunning hardy geranium with decorative dark green foliage and eye-catching pale blue flowers veined with red.
  • Geranium cinereum 'Lawrence Flatman' - Striking rose pink flowers, with rich magenta veining and a velvety black eye, that stand out against a foil of delicately cut grey-green foliage that remains evergreen.

6 Bare Root Plants (2 Of Each Variety) (V11759)

Plant geranium bareroots at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Should soil conditions prevent planting directly into borders (if soil is frozen or waterlogged), perennial geraniums should be potted up, watered sparingly and grown on in a cool position. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position on moist, well drained soil. Work some compost or general fertiliser into the top 20cm of the soil. Dig a hole wide enough to accommodate the bareroot with its roots spread out and deep enough that the crown of the plant is just a few cm below soil level. Backfill the hole with soil and firm the plant in gently. Water well to settle the soil.
Water regularly until fully established. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems throughout the growing season to promote continuous fresh growth. In autumn, cut the foliage back completely. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant in spring. Lift and divide hardy geranium plants every third year to maintain their vigour.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
