A new variety of hardy Geranium producing a sumptuous summer display! Ruffled, lilac-blue, double flowers above mounds of finely cut foliage make this an attractive border perennial. Flowers appear in early summer, attracting plenty of pollinating insects. A second flush is often produced in late summer. Like many Cranesbills, Geranium pratense ‘Cloud Nine’ has a vigorous habit, growing quickly to fill gaps in borders and form spreading groundcover. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Pot up geranium plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions. When plugs are fully rooted into their pots, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days and transplant into borders. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position on any well drained soil. Work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Firm plants into the ground and water well to settle the soil.
Water regularly until fully established. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems throughout the growing season to promote continuous fresh growth. In autumn, cut the foliage back completely. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant in spring. Lift and divide hardy geranium plants every third year to maintain their vigour.
