Commonly known as Cranesbill. Followers of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show will know that this plant was awarded 1st place in their ‘Plant of the Centenary’ competition in 2013. Geranium 'Rozanne' produces an abundance of lilac blue flowers. These hardy perennial plants make excellent ground cover and help create beautiful cottage garden style planting schemes. Flowering right through the summer, if the plant starts to look a little tired simply cut right back and it will come back with new growth and another flush of flowers. Cranesbill make a lovely companion plant for roses and are superb for edging the front of informal borders or even gently cascading from patio containers. Their bright autumn foliage extends their season of interest. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Pot up geranium plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions. When plugs are fully rooted into their pots, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days and transplant into borders. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position on any well drained soil. Work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Firm plants into the ground and water well to settle the soil.
Water regularly until fully established. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems throughout the growing season to promote continuous fresh growth. In autumn, cut the foliage back completely. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant in spring. Lift and divide hardy geranium plants every third year to maintain their vigour.
