1 Glory Lily tuber (V73290)

Grow Glory Lily plants in a warm conservatory, heated greenhouse, or patio container that can be moved indoors for the winter. Plant tubers in containers of loam based compost such as John Innes No.2 at a depth of 10cm (4”). Provide the twining stems with an appropriate support, such as a climbing frame, trellis or horizontal wires attached to walls. Alternatively grow Gloriosa outdoors against sheltered walls and fences, or through large shrubs. Plant in rich fertile, well drained soil in sunny sheltered borders.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Position container grown plants on a sunny patio from May to October. Return them to a bright warm greenhouse for the winter at a minimum temperature of 10°C (50°F) and allow the compost to dry out until the following spring. The tubers of border-grown plants can be lifted when the foliage dies back in autumn, and stored over winter in peat or sand, in a warm frost free position.
