Why not savour the fresh, sweet and satisfying taste of dessert grapes grown in your own garden? Grape 'Boskoop Glory' is produces a reliable, sweet and tasty crop, and is both disease resistant and easy to grow. Very much a firm favourite, this black grape promises generous results with minimal effort. As autumn progresses the large green leaves turn to vibrant shades of yellow and red, making grape vines an attractive feature plant for pergolas and trellis. Height of cordon trained vine: 1.8m (6'). Spread of cordon trained vine: 1.5m (5'). Untrained plants may reach up to 8m (26').

Grow grape vines in a sunny position in well-drained soil which has had plenty of well-rotted manure or compost incorporated. Although fully hardy, grape vines produce the best crops in a sheltered position against a south-facing wall. Prior to planting, construct a support for the twining stems using sturdy 1.8m (6') wooden posts with wires stretched horizontally between them at a distance of 30cm (12") apart. If growing grape vines on a wall, use screw-in vine eyes to attach wires to the wall. Plant grape vines against their support 1.2m (4') apart. After planting, cut back the main stem to the height of the lowest support wire.

Water grape vines regularly throughout the growing season but take care not to overwater, as excessive watering may reduce the quality of the fruit. Train the stems onto trellis throughout summer to achieve the desired size and shape. Prune grapevines in winter to maintain a compact plant. Harvest grapes by cutting ripe bunches from the plant from October onwards.
