An improved version of the familiar Griselinia littoralis with glossier, darker green leaves and a more bushy habit. Griselinia littoralis ‘Green Horizon’ is a fast-growing evergreen that makes a superb shrub or hedging plant, rapidly forming a dense screen against wind and noise. Drought and salt tolerant, it’s ideal for coastal gardens. Growth rate: 60-90cm per year. Height: 6m (19.7ft). Spread: 3m (9.8ft).

Prior to planting Griselinia, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant at the same soil level as they were growing at the nursery, and water well to settle the soil. These plants prefer well drained soil and a position in full sun

Water young plants during particularly dry periods until fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the hedge. This will help to retain moisture throughout the summer
