Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

This fast and totally reliable evergreen climber will grow anywhere, forming a rapid green screen with multiple seasons of interest whilst providing a paradise for wildlife. Clothed in handsome, dark green, glossy leaves with light yellow veins, Hedera helix 'Woerner' is perfect for disguising eyesores or growing a living screen. Ivy screens provide security and privacy, whilst being much faster growing than hedges and requiring little maintenance. The clusters of small yellow-green flowers which are produced in autumn are packed with nectar and are a valuable food source for insects at a time when little else is available, preparing them for hibernation. The black berries which follow attract a host of birds including thrushes and blackcaps. Meanwhile, the leaves are a food source for numerous moths and butterflies. Come Christmas, you’ll also be able to harvest your own material to make traditional festive wreaths. Maximum height and spread: 6m (236in).

1 x 1.7 Litre Potted Plant (KF1709)

Grow Ivy in any moist, well drained garden soil in a sheltered position, in full sun or partial shade. Ivy will perform especially well on alkaline soils, although plants are also tolerant of a wide range of different soil conditions.
Prune your Ivy plants to fit the space available. Plants can be trimmed at any time, although spring is the best time for renovation pruning, before the new growth starts. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
