Hemerocallis 'Bonanza' provides a boost to mid and late summer borders, with its large, trumpet-shaped, creamy-orange flowers marked with maroon throats. Despite its exotic looks, ‘Bonanza’ is an undemanding and rewarding perennial that quickly forms clumps of green strappy foliage on healthy, disease-free plants. It’s especially valued for its ability to tolerate heavy clay soils. Although individual flowers only last a day, they are freely produced in quick succession creating a high-impact display from July to September. Height: 70cm (28in). Spread: 50cm (20in).

Plant dayliles in moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun. Growing hemerocallis plants in dry soils or shaded conditions may reduce the number of flowers produced.

For the best performance keep day lily plants well watered whilst they are in flower and deadhead faded daylily flowers regularly. In autumn remove any old, ragged foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around the base of daylily plants.
