Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Traditional Hemerocallis flower only once in mid to late summer, but ‘Stella Trio’ offers three dwarf varieties that repeat flower throughout summer, maximising the use of space in small gardens, borders and containers.

Hemerocallis ‘Stella Trio’ form clumps of strappy, semi-evergreen foliage, providing a good textural contrast against broader-leaved perennials. Repeat flowering throughout the season with a spring and autumn peak, they bear lily-like flowers that sit proudly above the foliage.

Hemerocallis is an almost bullet-proof perennial, thriving in most soils, including heavy clays, providing it has sufficient moisture and sunshine. Plants require little in the way of maintenance. The small proportions of the Stella series make them perfect for small-space gardening and container growing. Fast-growing, they spread rapidly to provide showy ground cover. Height and spread: 40cm (16in).

Hemerocallis ‘Stella Trio’ contains the following varieties:

  • Hemerocallis 'Stella Citron' - Lemon-yellow flowers
  • Hemerocallis 'Stella Rouge - Rich red flowers with yellow throats
  • Hemerocallis 'Stella Tangerine' - Tangerine to peach flowers

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Plant dayliles in moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun. Growing hemerocallis plants in dry soils or shaded conditions may reduce the number of flowers produced.
For the best performance keep day lily plants well watered whilst they are in flower and deadhead faded daylily flowers regularly. In autumn remove any old, ragged foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around the base of daylily plants.
