Hosta ‘Frances Williams’ is an RHS AGM award winning hardy perennial. The blue-green crinkled leaves have a golden margin and creates an attractive display. In the summer months between June and July pale lilac flowers will spring up on their long stems. These plants are perfect for wide ground cover due to their low spreading habit. Pop in a shaded area of the garden in a bed or border and they are easy to care for. In the winter months it will become dormant so any dying foliage can be cut back ready for mid-spring. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 75cm (29”).

When growing Hostas, choose a position in partial or dappled shade on fertile, moist, well drained soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure to improve heavy clay or light sandy soils. Alternatively plant Hostas in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Lift and divide Hosta plants in autumn every third year to maintain their vigour.
