Creating your own compost is even easier with this innovative aerobic composter. The Hotbin Mk.2 Composter boasts an insulated, sealed-unit design that reaches temperatures of 40-60C, allowing the incredibly quick compost production with just 30 – 90 days!

With a generous 200 litre capacity, it is ideal for households of 3-5 people producing a minimum of 5kg of waste per week.

The well-sealed lid comes complete with a built in bio-filter that prevents unpleasant smells escaping and keeps the unit hot to ensure quick composting. The heat also kills off fly larvae, weed seed and pathogens during the process.

Because it uses hot compost technology, you can add a wide range of waste such as grass clippings, household waste (including vegetable peelings, cooked meat and even small bones!), as well as leaves, plant clippings etc.

A large hatch panel allows for easy compost removal, and there’s even a clever leachate system with a built-in tap, so you can drain off your own compost tea to make nutrient rich fertiliser for your plants.

Also available is the new Hotbin Plinth that raises your HOTBIN off the ground by 125mm (5 inches) providing easy access to slide a suitable receptacle underneath the HOTBIN tap when draining the liquid fertiliser. Durable, sleek and hardwearing, situate the Plinth on a flat level surface and ease the HOTBIN into the contoured raised edges to provide a snug, firmly nested fit.

The HOTBIN Mk.2 incorporates a number of customers requested design features. There is a new leachate collection system allowing for the collection of liquid fertiliser from a built-in tap at the bottom of the unit. An improved seal around the lid locks in even more heat and prevents any water ingress during heavy rainfall. Finally, the protruding hinge on the original bin has been designed into the body of the unit reducing the overall footprint and streamlining the design. As a hot aerobic compost bin, the HOTBIN Mk.2 is able to produce compost 32 times faster than traditional composting methods without the need for any turning or tumbling. Bacteria break down waste and produce heat as a by-product, this heat is then insulated within the HOTBIN allowing the internal temperature to rise and for all food and garden waste including cooked food, small bones and perennial weeds to be composted faster. A sealed unit, the HOTBIN Mk.2 includes a bio-filter in the lid to trap any composting odours reducing the attraction of pests and vermin. The HOTBIN Mk. 2 is designed and manufactured in the UK. Manufactured from 100% recyclable expanded polypropylene. 3-year manufacturers guarantee for the HOTBIN unit only, this excludes damage caused by wildlife and undue care. 12-month guarantee for the thermometers, kick start bottle, cam straps, rake and filter bag.
