Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Hydrangea macrophylla 'Lady Mata Hari Pink' (Royalty Collection) is direct from the latest breeding in Hydrangeas. The new and innovative variety forms part of the Royalty collection. 'Lady Mata Hari Pink' will produce large mophead blooms in the summer. Each indivdual bloom is a blend of mauve-pink, creamy white and apple green that creates a hand-painted effect. No two blooms will be the same! These plants are compact and deciduous and have a branching habit. These are perfect for planting in containers on the patio but will thrive equally as well in a lightly-shaded border. In the Autumn the foliage and skeletal faded blooms will provide interest later in the year. As with other Hyrangea varieties the blooms will slightly differ in colour depending on the PH of the soil. Height and spread: 120cm (48").

Hydrangea macrophylla prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Alternatively plant hydrangea macrophylla in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: Contact with hydrangea foliage may irritate the skin and eyes and all parts are harmful if eaten.
