Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
A beautiful hydrangea for patios and front garden borders, Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight' , has large conical flowerheads that open in a soft shade of pea green, and turn cream white, then have hints of soft pink. With blooms at different stages of growth, the result is a three toned effect with flowers in all three colours on the bush. As with all hydrangeas, it flowers in late summer and continues well into autumn, often the last plant to lose its summer flowers in the garden. It enjoys dappled shade, so planting under a tree canopy or by a wall where its roots will be shaded is ideal. A simple prune in late autumn will help it grow in great condition the following year. Height and spread: 250cm (98").

Please note: Standard Hydrangea plants will be supplied as a bushy head on a clear stem.

Position hydrangea plants in sun or semi shade and sheltered from cold winter winds. Plant Hydrangea paniculata in borders in rich, moist, well drained soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure to improve heavy clay or light gravel soils.

Water regularly until young hydrangea plants are established. In autumn, apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant taking care not to mound it up against the stem as this may cause it to rot. Leave faded hydrangea flower heads in place until new buds swell in spring. These will help protect the delicate buds from frost damage.

Prune hydrangea in spring. Reduce stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. No other pruning is necessary. However, Hydrangea paniculata will tolerate hard pruning and the removal of the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level if necessary. This will also encourage larger flower heads to be produced.
